For records and licensing verification requests:
You will receive a confirmation email when we receive your form. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the processing of your request. We will contact you if additional information or forms are needed. Please allow the full three weeks before sending a follow up email. Upon request completion, you will receive a confirmation email, and an electronic copy of all completed verification forms. We realize how important this process is for our alums, and we work hard to expedite requests when possible!
For schools licensing request and review:
IU MSW Graduates
For IU MSW graduates that did not complete the schools coursework as part of their MSW program, it is important that you plan at least 6 months to a year ahead if you want to apply for a school social work position requiring the IDOE license.
To be considered for review to please submit a current resume, and (if applicable) a letter on school letter head from school administrator detailing date of hire, full or part time status and school social work roles and functions. You can also upload any additional relevant certifications or non-IU transcripts that speak to your qualifications.
Non-IU MSW graduates
For Non-IU MSW graduates seeking courtesy coursework review, you must first go through the IDOE LVIS coursework review process. Once you have your letter from IDOE after your submission on their website, return here and complete the process of document submission.
You will need to submit your IDOE letter, MSW transcripts, a current resume, and (if applicable) a letter on school letter head from school administrator detailing date of hire, full or part time status and school social work roles and functions. You can also upload any additional relevant certifications or non-IU transcripts outside of your MSW education that speak to your qualifications.
Follow up and response time:
You will receive a confirmation email when we receive your form. You may receive a follow up email with a request for additional forms or documents needed for review. We must receive all documentation before you can be considered for review. Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing after all documents have been received. You will hear from the committee by email with the official review outcome.
Please note that due to high volume of requests we may not be able to respond individually to follow up emails. Please allow the full 8 weeks before contacting us to follow up. The committee’s decision will be emailed to you.
